What Is a Vehicle-Mounted LED Arrow Board and Where Is It Used?
A vehicle-mounted LED arrow board is a traffic warning device installed on a vehicle. It uses LED lights to display directional arrows and warning patterns, alerting other road users to work zones ahead and helping guide traffic around changing road conditions.
These devices are commonly used for road construction, roadway maintenance, and municipal maintenance operations. When choosing an arrow board, consider its operating modes, control options, LED configuration, and vehicle power requirements.
1. Where Are Vehicle-Mounted LED Arrow Boards Used?
Vehicle-mounted LED arrow boards are used in road work situations where temporary traffic guidance and warnings are needed.
- Road Construction and Lane Closures: Directional arrows and warning patterns alert drivers to work zones and changing lane conditions.
- Roadway Maintenance: Mounted on maintenance vehicles, arrow boards provide directional guidance and visual warnings around mobile work zones.
- Municipal Road Maintenance: Suitable for road repairs, public infrastructure maintenance, and other operations that require temporary traffic warnings.
The appropriate display mode should be selected based on road conditions and traffic management requirements at the work site.
2. What Operating Modes Does the LED Arrow Board Offer?
The LB-CC Series vehicle-mounted LED arrow board offers nine operating modes, including left arrows, right arrows, double arrows, and various warning patterns to meet different road work requirements.
The LED lights support both simultaneous flashing and sequential flashing, depending on the selected mode. Mode 9 displays a horizontal warning strip across the middle row and supports simultaneous flashing only.
3. How Is a Vehicle-Mounted LED Arrow Board Controlled?
The LB-CC Series comes standard with both an in-cab wired controller and a remote control, allowing operators to switch the board’s operating modes as needed.
In-Cab Wired Controller: The wired controller operates its corresponding arrow board. The mode shown on the controller stays synchronized with the mode displayed on the board. The controller also comes with an adjustable mounting bracket, allowing its angle and height to be adjusted to suit the in-cab installation position for convenient viewing and operation.
Remote Control: The remote control allows operators to change the board’s operating state. Multiple units from the same production batch can be switched synchronously, making it easier to change their display states together.
4. What Should You Consider When Choosing a Vehicle-Mounted LED Arrow Board?
In addition to operating modes and control options, consider the LED configuration, vehicle power supply, and mounting requirements.
LED Configuration: The LB-CC Series is available in 15-light and 25-light configurations. Both use high-intensity amber LEDs on a black display panel. Choose the configuration that best suits your work requirements.
Power Requirements: The board operates on a DC 12–24V vehicle power supply. Confirm that the vehicle’s power supply is compatible before selecting the product.
Mounting Bracket: The standard configuration does not include a mounting bracket for the arrow board itself. If a bracket is required, provide the vehicle type and mounting requirements when requesting a quotation so the appropriate solution can be confirmed. The controller includes its own adjustable bracket, which is separate from the mounting bracket for the arrow board.
